One of the challenges of growing things organically, and without plastic weed cloth of any sort, is that we get lots of weeds!
Some of these weeds are the lovely, nutritious, and pollinator-friendly dandelion. If you've seen our front lawn youknow we love these guys. But other weeds try to fight their way into our garden as well. Foxtail, white top, ripgut, and common lambsquarters are all varieties we know well.
So starting May 9th at 8 am we are doing a Weedapalooza! This is a 2 hour block of time to come enjoy the garden every other week (and if this is successful we would love to make it weekly)where we pick weeds, trellis plants, thin crops and do all sorts of garden maintenance. It's a great way to get involved in a small way and learnabout urban gardening.
Each week we will have either produce, seeds,seedlings, garden zines, or other thank you gifts to take home after contributing to this mutual aid. We want you to know how much we appreciate you!
